Commercial Glass Services

High Performance Glass

A somewhat generic term, High Performance Glass refers to glazing that is utilized for its performance capabilities rather than just its aesthetic qualities. Performance requirements may include impact resistance, heat gain, reflectivity, privacy, acoustical, fire rating, safety or its ability to shed water spots and dirt accumulation.

Heavy Plate Glass

Also referred to as sheet glass or float glass, heavy plate glass is manufactured in a float system where molten glass is floated on a bed of molten tin then drawn out and rolled to the desired thickness in a continuous sheet. Thicknesses can range from 1/16″ to over 1″ thick in sheets as large as 120″ high by 180″ wide. Float glass in thicknesses of 3/8″ and above are considered Heavy Plate.

Laminated & Tempered Safety Glass

Safety glass refers to any glass that when broken does not pose a safety hazard. It wasn’t until 1972 that building codes were revised to mandate safety glazing in doors and other high traffic areas. Until then numerous injuries including loss of limbs and even death were attributed to broken glass that allowed large sharp shards of glass.

Low-E Insulating Glass

In the hot Arizona climate the preferred choice of glass for windows and doors is Low-E Insulating Glass. Low-E (low-emissivity) is a term used for a surface that radiates, or emits, low levels of radiant energy.  Low-E glass is manufactured by applying specific metallic coatings (silver, zinc or tin) to the surface of glass to reflect heat.  There are two types of Low-E glass: hard coat and soft coat.

Blast Resistant Glass & Windows

While Blast Resistant window systems have been used by the military for years in hostile locations, only recently have they been specified for installations here in the United States. The events of Oklahoma City and 9/11 have forever changed how we look at security and occupant safety.

Commercial Doors

For every business, large or small, there is a commercial glass door to match. Whether it’s a retail, industrial, commercial or professional application, commercial glass doors need to be designed to withstand heavy use and abuse. And because your business entrance is your customers first impression of your company, it also needs to be designed to represent your company image with more than just functionality. Let us help you design it to say, “welcome” as well.

Frameless Glass Doors

Nothing is more attractive and inviting than an all glass entrance door. Retail businesses that rely on high visibility find frameless glass doors to be the answer. Whether it’s an executive office, mall storefront, or custom home application, frameless glass doors provide a more open, light filled appearance while making a bold design statement. With a wide variety of metal and hardware finishes, you can create a look that’s uniquely yours.

Spandrel Glass

Spandrel glass is a heat processed glass with a ceramic frit permanently fused to the surface of the glass. Heat strengthening allows spandrel glass to be twice as strong as annealed glass. When tempered, spandrel glass is five times stronger than annealed glass and is more resistant to thermal stresses as well. Available in monolithic and spandrel glass is widely used for building non-vision areas to mask construction materials.

Bullet Resistant Glass

Bullet resistant glass is designed to withstand one or several rounds of bullets depending on the thickness of the glass and the weapon being fired at it. While often referred to as bullet-proof glass, that is a misnomer. So what gives bullet-resistant glass the ability to stop bullets.
